Cooper has been home for two nights now, and it's clear that his body time is not set to Eastern Daylight Time. He enjoys long afternoon naps and good hearty cries through the night. Mom and Dad haven't enjoyed a good 8-hours of sleep yet, but 3 more nights like last night and they will reach the full eight.

Cooper Douglas Murphy

Happy Birthday Cooper! Cooper was born at 1:51pm Thursday, July 24th. Amy was awesome, and mother and baby are in terrific health.

Cooper weighed in at 7 lbs.-7.4 oz. and measured 20-3/4" in length.

He is amazing. Pictures below...

Let the Games Begin!

It's 7pm Wednesday, July 23rd and we're in Labor and Delivery Room #9 at Piedmont Hospital. Amy is hooked up to monitors and we'll begin the induction of sweet little mini Cooper first thing in the morning -- though it could be Friday afternoon before he's here.

Half of the family is in sunny Hawaii, but Cooper just cannot wait. Thanks to the miracles of modern medicine/technology, we have wi-fi in our room, so we'll be able to blog live during the action with pictures and even videos. Mom (Grandma K), this will be vital, so hopefully Aunt Meg and Uncle Josh will show you how to blog before they return to the mainland.

Cooper's Nursery

Let me start this post by thanking Jennifer and Anne for dreaming up and assembling an amazing nursery for little Cooper. After months of shopping and calm debate and assembly (Doug) and painting and moving of furniture and moving back of furniture, the nursery is complete and perfect. Thanks also to Meg and K for Coop's petting zoo and of course Earle (D) the horse.

For proof of perfection, see photos below.....

Hello and Welcome to Cooper's first blog. He's amazing as he blogs from the womb. We are 4 weeks from Cooper Douglas' official due date, and while there are those out there who are hoping he makes it all the way to August 6th, Amy, I believe, would prefer to meet sweet little mini Cooper a little early.

This is Team Murphy's first attempt at blogging. Please accept my (Tim) apology in advance for any rookie/busch-league blogging errors you may find. In the coming weeks, we will update you on our progress. Today, we had our (now) weekly doctor's visit, and all is well. Amy is measuring 36 weeks, and only gained 1/2 a lb. in the last 7 days....she was pleased.

Coming Soon.....pictures of Cooper's nursery courtesy of JP's photographic excellence.

That's all for now. Adios.
